Ambre Lumiere is one of Voluspa's older scents, a holdover from the old Maison Noir line; its description has drifted over the years. Early listings gave light amber, vanilla, benzoin and patchouli; today Voluspa talks about ancient amber incense and ceremonial burning wood over vanilla. Either way it reads as a darker, more incense-led amber than the sweet, creamy Baltic Amber most people know, and retailers file it under earthy and warm-spicy rather than anything sugary.
Reports are few but fond. It shows up on Reddit lists of people's all-time Voluspa favorites, and one owner with a big, open ground floor found its 3-wick tin very noticeable right across her living and dining room. That fits what buyers say about the brand in general: the tins carry further than the glass.
Nearly every Voluspa format carries it, starting at $16 for a mini tin and topping out with the $250 hearth; in between, a 9.5-ounce Classic costs $38 and the big 18-ounce jar just $40.
Voluspa says the 5-Wick Hearth burns up to 250 hours. Size by size: Mini Tin, 25 h; Petite Jar, 35 h; Classic, 60 h; 3-Wick Tin, 40 h; Large Jar, 100 h; Luxe, 80 h; 5-Wick Hearth, 250 h.
What does Ambre Lumiere smell like?
Amber incense curling up from smoldering ceremonial wood, rounded out with vanilla. The hush of a candlelit chapel on a winter night. Voluspa lists notes of ancient amber incense, precious ceremonial burning wood and vanilla. We file it under warm and spicy.
Is Ambre Lumiere worth it?
It has no Glow Score yet: a score needs the candle's own Amazon rating, and it doesn't have one yet. The Mini Tin costs $16 and burns 25 hours; the 5-Wick Hearth burns up to 250 hours for $250.
