Mediterranean Lemon is a light, true lemon, and most people who buy it are delighted with exactly that. The notes are Sicilian lemon, bergamot, jasmine and a warm solar amber, and Voluspa pours it in pale blue glass that shoppers mention almost as often as the scent. Retail reviewers keep using the same few words: fresh, bright, uplifting, a lemon that tastes right rather than candied. Ratings run high everywhere it's sold, including 4.8 stars on Nordstrom and 4.5 on Amazon across 72 reviews (Glow Score 9.0).
The loudest dissent comes from an unexpected place. A YouTuber who calls Voluspa her favorite home fragrance brand by a mile expected to love it, citrus fan that she is, and found something closer to lemon furniture polish: pleasant, but more nice bathroom cleaner than treat. Her boyfriend agreed. If clean-house lemon is a smell you avoid, that's worth knowing before you order a big jar unsniffed.
Expect it to stay modest. A Nordstrom reviewer calls the scent subtle, and one collector who logs every Voluspa by room found the 9 oz Classic strong in a bathroom, faint in a bedroom and lost in the kitchen. A small tin did better for a Reddit buyer, who got good throw both cold and lit. So think of the Classic ($34) for a bath or powder room and a tin or hearth for anything open.
It's a spring and summer candle for most fans, and the jar has a second act: Voluspa itself suggests turning the empty blue glass into a vase.
