Midnight Leather changes as it burns, and not in the direction the name suggests. The most detailed account comes from a Reddit collector who had been waiting for Voluspa's Fender collaboration because they love a leather candle. Unlit, they found only a hint of smoky leather. Lit, ginger and cardamom took over, and the longer it burned the spicier it got, until the cardamom read almost like cola. Their verdict: interesting, just not the leather they were after. Someone in the same thread points leather purists toward KOBO's Modena Leather instead.
On paper the notes run from ginger tonic and cardamom to worn leather and a thread of incense. The jar carries much of the appeal: glass wrapped in six embossed guitar strings with a glossy pick on the front, shaded like a sunburst Stratocaster. It sits above the core line in price, at $52 for the 11 oz boxed candle (rated for 55 hours) or $24 for the mini.
