One of the warmest testimonials for Suede Blanc comes from a husband. On a cologne subreddit he asked for a long-lasting men's fragrance that smells like the candle his wife loves, and his list of what he picks up in it (sandalwood, rich cedar, soft suede, patchouli, tonka, amber) runs longer than Voluspa's own three notes of buttery sueded leather, amber and cedar. Replies steered him toward leather-and-amber perfumes such as Montale's Leather Patchouli.
The scent dates back to Voluspa's Maison Blanc line, and it reads woody and slightly powdery rather than like a leather jacket. Fans are devoted; one TikToker scored it a ten out of ten after a single night's burn. The catch is volume. A Candle Delirium reviewer had to stand practically over the Classic to smell it, softer than their other Voluspas, and a Nordstrom reviewer could barely detect the Large Jar once lit. Keep it to a study or bedroom, or reach for more wicks: the 3-wick tin costs $32, against $38 for the single-wick Classic.
Voluspa says the 5-Wick Hearth burns up to 250 hours. Size by size: Mini Tin, 25 h; Petite Jar, 35 h; Classic, 60 h; 3-Wick Tin, 40 h; Large Jar, 100 h; Luxe, 80 h; 5-Wick Hearth, 250 h.
What does Suede Blanc smell like?
Buttery soft suede with warm amber and cedar, like a new jacket you never want to take off. Voluspa lists notes of buttery sueded leather, amber and cedar. We file it under warm and spicy.
Is Suede Blanc worth it?
It has no Glow Score yet: a score needs the candle's own Amazon rating, and it doesn't have one yet. The Mini Tin costs $16 and burns 25 hours; the 5-Wick Hearth burns up to 250 hours for $250.
