Light this one after dinner, once the pasta pot is soaking in the sink. Voluspa built Tomato Trellis for the kitchen, gave the collection odor-neutralizing technology to clear cooking smells, and launched it with a pasta-making party for creators. Under the marketing, though, sits a candle that people who paid for it seem to really like.
Voluspa's list runs to garden mint, rosemary, bergamot and the leaf of a Roma tomato plant, and the tomato plays a supporting role. A Reddit collector who called it the only unqualified hit among a month of new candles describes a minty, herby garden scent that reminded them of Diptyque's La Droguerie: cooling mint, fresh herbs that never turn vegetal, and just enough tomato leaf to round out the summer feel. The mint is the dividing line, and one commenter who doesn't care for minty candles didn't take to it.
Throw is modest. A Nordstrom reviewer loves the garden smell but says it needs a very small room, and a Sephora buyer who compares it to a stroll through a summer herb garden only gets it to fill a bedroom on a candle warmer. In a kitchen, the $32 tin with its three wicks makes more sense than the single-wick Large Jar ($38), and the room spray, which a Candle Delirium shopper says smells like tomatoes on the vine, suits a quick reset after cooking.
Voluspa says the 5-Wick Hearth burns up to 250 hours. Size by size: Mini Tin, 25 h; Small Jar, 50 h; Classic, 60 h; 3-Wick Tin, 40 h; Large Jar, 100 h; 3-Wick Hearth, 80 h; 5-Wick Hearth, 250 h.
