When a Reddit user who had fallen hard for jasmine asked for a candle that truly smelled of it, the first suggestion was Jasmine Midnight Blooms. They ordered one off Amazon for about $50 with shipping, more than they had ever expected to spend on a candle, plus a cheaper Yankee jasmine to compare. That is the job this candle gets hired for: jasmine, plainly and mostly on its own.
Voluspa lists Egyptian jasmine, tuberose, moonflower and dune grass, tucks bergamot and mango wood into the longer story, and calls the result bold. The people burning it mostly describe one flower. A beauty blogger who chose it as her first full-size Voluspa got jasmine and little else, fresh rather than heady, and couldn't find the tuberose at all. Bloomingdale's shoppers, who rate it 4.8 across 347 reviews, keep landing on words like authentic and fresh, though plenty also call it subtle.
Unimpressive in the box
Unlit, it can let you down. That blogger thought the jar smelled like a cheap room spray when she opened it, and a first-time Voluspa buyer on Reddit, holding a four-candle bundle, worried the faint scent meant sending them all back. Burning is another matter. The blogger says it takes a while to build, then fills the room with jasmine; it never smoked or left soot for her and melted out to the edges. She likens it to Nest's Bamboo, for less money and in a prettier jar.
Room size still matters. In a big living room one Reddit owner rates the 18 oz jar light to medium, while in her bedrooms and bathrooms it comes across strong, and a commenter in the same thread finds the brand's florals generally throw well, Mokara excepted. Someone in that jasmine thread also suggests long burns, or a metal topper, for single-wick jars.
Sizes and the box
For gifting, the 9-ounce Classic comes in its own box for $34 and should burn around 60 hours; the blogger plans to keep its embossed jar once it's empty. Bigger rooms call for the 18-ounce jar at $38, and a mini tin at $16 tells you cheaply whether a single-flower candle suits you. On Amazon, 44 ratings come to 4.5 stars and a 9.0 Glow Score. Voluspa launched it in 2023 and pushed it hard as a Mother's Day gift, and spring and summer are when jasmine fans tend to reach for it.
